Good Weekend

Today was good, I went to the good mall and got a DC Shoes shirt. I'm trying to sell most of the band shirts I don't wear and getting other shirts, and the occasional band shirt. I'm thinking of getting a Suffocation, Necrophagist, or Frank Zappa shirt next. Probably not Kreator at the show, I"ve heard that they're $25 and more, and I'll never spend that much for a shirt. I did manage to sell my Born of Osiris shirt on Friday, I still gotta get my $10 from my friend. That's how much I'm selling them for, just $10. Hopefully I'll make some profit, I've got a lot to sell. If not through people, then through eBay.

This week shouldn't be too bad, I just have a math exam on Thursday and a speech to give on Friday. I still gotta go over the topic with my COMS teacher tomorrow morning, I'm not 100% sure about it, but it has to do with the history of metal music.

I also found out something interesting today. One of my Uncles told me that on my mom's side of the family, we all don't care what people think of us, we don't follow people, and we just be ourselves. I think that the way I act now, which is basically exactly that, is hereditary from what my Uncle told me. That's a good thing, it's never a good thing to be a follower. I always say to people to be themselves and never change for anyone. That's the biggest form of selling out, and sell outs fucking suck.

So today, and this weekend in general was pretty good. This week will hopefully go by fast so I can go on spring break!

$$$$!

Today was actually very good despite not going to many places! I went to the bank and deposited $82 and got my Kreator tickets and Mastodon/Between the Buried and Me tickets! Now I'm set for those two, Overkill, and Cannibal Corpse! I feel incredibly accomplished!

Work was pretty crazy, especially as opposed to last night. Turns out I got $18 total from last night. Not that much, but more than I expected. I also wondered, what if my summer job is like this? By that I mean, the busier it is, the more I get paid. If that was the case, holy fuck anyone working there would be rich as hell. The total amount of money I have saved up now from working the past 2 days and my dad's friend being so generous is $78! I don't know what I'm gonna do with that, but more than likely save it up and take some with me when I go to Chicago in two weeks. I might save up for an Ibanez 7 string guitar, that would be awesome to have.

To make the day even better, my co worker may be able to hook me up with a job at Radio Shack! He just became a manager there, so he has to leave my job now for it, but he tells me that it pays well and where he works, there's an open spot for a part time employee! I better get on that tomorrow!

So all in all, today was great! Hopefully tomorrow will be better, aside from going back to college. I dread staying in my dorm, but it's nice when I'm out of there, whether I'm going to classes or just chilling in the student center.

Finally over!

At last, this week from hell has come to an end! To be honest, it was a decent week for the most part, but I had 3 exams, a quiz, and a paper due. I'm so glad that it's all out of the way now. My German test was a joke, and my math quiz went okay I guess. I had to rush one of the problems because I was gonna be late for my ride to my grandma's to get my car to go to work and home. But aside from that, today was decent.

Work was pretty slow, what with Lent going on, no one can eat meat on Fridays. I'm gonna get paid like $15 in tips from tonight, but whatever. Tomorrow is probably gonna be busy, and I hope, I need the money!

Speaking of money, I no longer have to save up for Cannibal Corpse tickets! I checked Ticketmaster last night and they were finally up there, and to make things better, I could use the remainder of my gift card for them! So that was an awesome way to end last night (this was after I wrote last night's post)! Tomorrow I plan on getting Kreator tickets and Mastodon/Between the Buried and Me tickets, so I'm pretty much set for concerts through May!

That pretty much sums up today, tomorrow should be good as well. After I deposit money in my bank account and order my tickets I'll probably go to the mall out of boredom and do whatever until I have to go to work. Should be fun.

Come on weekend!

Today was decent (again). The geography exam I took went pretty well, I'm sure I at least got a C on it, or so I hope. I really don't care about that class, I'll be happy with a C.

Tonight I saw a school play, Metamorpheses, (I think that's how it's spelled), and I thought it was weird, but pretty good. Some parts had me zoning out but the way they interpret Greek Mythology stories through acting was nice. Comparing it to Private Lives, another play I saw about a month ago, I prefer Private Lives. Maybe it was the location and audience, sort of like comparing it to a concert. I like smaller venue concerts such as the House of Blues rather than larger venues such as Allstate Arena, and Private Lives was in a smaller location than Metamorpheses. It's a strange analogy. The only really bad thing about it was that it got in the way of my workout schedule, so I didn't get to work out tonight. Oh well, I gotta do what I gotta do.

I found out that my math exam was actually next Thursday, March 4th, rather than the Friday after, so that's actually a relief. The earlier the better so I can get it done with, and I have a speech to present for COMS that day. I gotta work on it over the weekend, because I gotta go to record it on Tuesday in a lab for a grade. It doesn't matter how crappy I do it there, but as long as I have something I'm happy. Tomorrow I have my sources for English due, I only have to find one more and I'm done, so that's good. I also have a German test tomorrow as well. The last German test I had I got a 95% on, so I think I'll do fine if I study a bit. So really, the only two major things I have next week are my Math exam and COMS speech, which I should be good for as long as I prepare well.

So overall, today was decent. There was a studio update from Atheist saying that everything is going well, so I'm really looking forward to their new stuff and a tour! I'm hoping tomorrow goes well with my German test and math quiz, which they should as long as I study.

This weather SUCKS

I think I've said this before here before... but in case I didn't, FUCK THE WINTER. I'm sick of the snow, cold and wind chill. I just wanna stop bundling up and shit and blast music out of my car in nice weather... :( Hopefully March will bring better weather, the weather now is just getting on my nerves and got old.

Aside from that, today was decent. Nothing special really, except I did see a guy with an Arsis shirt and told him he had an awesome shirt. Soon I will meet all..... Oh I don't know.... all 30 metalheads that go to my school of thousands of people. Seriously, I'm sure that about 80% of people here, if not more listen to just rap. And not old school decent rap like Public Enemy or Notorious B.I.G., I mean Lil Wayne and other watered down, processed, autotuned, special and sound effect added bullshit that people have the nerve to call rap. All it is is sound. Might as well call it attempted, botched ambient music. Just had to get that out.

I've been listening to a lot of Opeth lately, especially from Blackwater Park, Deliverance and my personal favorite, Damnation. I listened to Damnation today and felt different than when I do with heavier music. It made me feel real calm and relaxed, but that's really expected from that album. I'm probably gonna be listening to it a lot more now, but I wanna find other music like it too.

Tomorrow is gonna be busy. I have a Geography exam, which I'm probably boned for, so I gotta study a bit tonight. I also have a play to go to later that night, which will probably get in the way of my work out schedule, so I probably won't be able to work out that night. That's what happened last night, but oh well. At least I'm going with other people, so that's cool.

And that about sums up my thoughts now. Hopefully tomorrow goes great for me and I do good on that Geography exam and the day goes by fast.

Busy busy

I took one of the four exams I have planned to take today, this one was for theater. It was a joke, like I said before, my teacher had us ask questions one day and he'd say if it would be on the test. So I'm happy knowing that I did great on it. Now I have a Geography exam this Thursday, a German test this Friday, and a Math exam next Friday. But that's not all! I also have to do 12 annotated citations for English due Friday, but he wants us to have a complete copy by tomorrow, so it's really due tomorrow now. I also have to give an informative speech for COMS next Friday as well. I still have to decide a topic for it... For now it's either How to Survive a Metal Concert or A Brief History of Metal Music. Either way, I'll be scaring the crap out of my class with my speech. It's gonna be a busy 2 weeks.

I'm working on Friday and Saturday this weekend, so hopefully I can get money for Cannibal Corpse tickets. That's all I really need now anyway since I already have money for Kreator and Mastodon/Between the Buried and Me.

I don't think the University of Illinois trip is happening because it's an unofficial St. Patrick's Day when I plan on going there, so security there is tight as hell. Unless by some divine miracle my friends can find a place not in the dorms to stay, we're not going. The security will fine anyone who is not a student at U of I and is in the dorms during Unofficial. Oh well, if anything, I'll be working if I don't end up going.

Short blog , but nothing really special happened today, but was still a decent day. Hopefully tomorrow brings more fun and excitement.

These are gonna be the longest 2 weeks of my life...

Today was pretty good, that geography homework I missed last week got put back up online by some divine miracle, apparently my teacher decided to give an extension. I'm assuming he did that because not a lot of people did it (myself included) and teachers do not like to fail students. So that's like a second chance for me, and I did great on the homework, I got a 9/10!

I decided not to go to the Unearth show, it's not really worth my time and the opening bands are horrible in my opinion. It saves me money and time anyway. I finally did get enough money to get Kreator tickets and Mastodon/Between the Buried and Me tickets though! I'm gonna do that this weekend. I'm hopefully working this weekend, so I can get money for Cannibal Corpse tickets as well. Also, Fear Factory announced some U.S. tour dates, nothing close to the midwest at all but there are more to come soon, so hopefully Chicago will be on that bill.

These next 2 weeks are gonna be hell. I'm loaded up the ass with papers, exams, quizzes and a speech. I'm gonna be very busy, but I can manage it. It'll be worth it in the end.

So overall, today was great. Hopefully tomorrow won't be too bad, I only have a theater exam which I'm gonna study for later tonight. My teacher in that class basically gave the class the exam questions and answers on Thursday, so I should be fine as long as I study those.

Back from Indiana!

Well I just got back from an awesome weekend at Indiana University visiting a friend with 7 other people! Overall, I had an amazing time there. The drives there and back were a lot more fun than I thought. It was about a 4 to 4 1/2 hour drive each way, and I was one of the drivers, so I was tired as hell arriving and coming back home now. On the way there, we missed like 3 exits because the Computer Unit Navigation & Travel GPS, or the CUNT, fucked up and we didn't see the exits on the road. But it relocated us and we got to IU just fine, but like half an hour later than the other car where the other 4 people were. Basically, our car was 4 guys, 1 car, and a CUNT.

The most fun day had to be Saturday, where we went to my friends' aunt's house about "20 minutes" from IU. Turns out it was an hour away, but still worth the trip. It was out in the middle of nowhere, covered in snow, slush and ice, and as my friend put it, "You could kill someone and dump the body here and no one would find it until the next harvest!" Yet another funny ride there and back. When we did get there though, her family was so welcoming, funny and nice! They gave us lunch there and it was amazing. Ham sandwiches with cheese, beans, and macaroni and cheese! Sure enough, all of us had a very fun time there as well.

We all did go to parties Friday and Saturday, but they were both shitty. The one on Friday ran out of beer and the one on Saturday was bring your own stuff, and I had none to begin with. I don't care for parties to begin with anyway.

There were some bad things too. I was supposed to give my family my grandma's food when I got back to drop and pick up stuff before we left for Indiana, but I left it in my trunk by accident. Luckily the fresh stuff was preserved fine but the leftovers I had went bad. Either way, it ended up fine for the most part. What didn't though was that I had Geography 101 homework that I was supposed to do online and completely forgot about. It was up from Thursday morning to Friday night and I was busy as hell for both days and had no time to do it. Oh well, shit happens. I know I'll probably be getting a C at best in that class but I really don't give a shit. Some people do so bad that they go on academic probation so my GPA won't be completely shitty as long as I do decent in the rest of my classes, which I am. Hopefully I can get my grade in math up a bit. I'm sure I can.

But back to good news, I didn't really spend any money that I made myself in Indiana, just the extra money my dad gave me for food and stuff, so I have $84 combined from what I took to Indiana and what I left home. I can pay for Kreator tickets now! I'm getting Unearth tickets at the last second, hell I don't think I'll end up going to that to begin with. Maybe I could go to University of Illinois (U of I) that weekend... My friend wants my friends and I to go there, so that could work out well. Another college visit I have planned out is University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC) during the week of my spring break. I'm planning on going there the night of Thursday, March 11th and staying there until Sunday morning. Thursday night I'm probably not gonna do shit, just chill with my friend who goes to UIC and my other friend coming up. Friday the 12th though, I'm going to see Kreator! My friend says he can find a way from UIC to the venue which is down the street, probably with public transportation or we all could walk together to the venue just to go around downtown. On Saturday the 13th, we're all going to see Titus Andronicus in a record store in the afternoon. It's a free show so it should be fun. After that, we're going to Kuma's Corner, a metal themed restaurant with awesome burgers! My mom, sister and aunt went there while my other friend and I were at the Dethklok/Mastodon show in October 2009 and they brought me back a burger. It was fucking amazing, I can't wait to actually go there! That's gonna be one hell of a weekend!

Speaking of Mastodon, that's probably the next tickets I'm going to get since I'm very hyped for that show. 18+ and in between my two job training dates, fucking awesome (not being sarcastic). This show is in the middle of May, while Cannibal Corpse, another show I'm planning on going to, is at the end of April, but I'll see what I can do. I just wanna get the Mastodon tickets ahead of time with my friend to be safe.

So overall, I had an amazing time in Indiana. It was nice seeing a good friend, hanging out with other friends, and visiting a new college/state to me. Hopefully we go back at some point in the spring or next year, it'll be fun again! I'm at home now, so I still have to drive back to NIU with my 3 other friends. We're gonna leave in about an hour or so after I eat. Then I'm going to my cousin's birthday party after I drop them off. It's gonna be great, lots of food and a fun time with the family! I'm looking forward to March now, and the rest of spring which brings me new opportunities, more concerts to go to, and hopefully better weather!

Indiana Tomorrow!

Well today was pretty good. In my theater class, the class could ask the teacher any questions about the exam (content wise) next Tuesday and he'd answer them for us and even say if it's on the exam or not! He gave us 39 out of the 50 questions on there, so that was cool.

Right now I'm feeling pretty crappy. Not like depressed or anything, but I'm just tired and out of it. I've been tired all day for some reason. Despite the tiredness, I'm still excited for Indiana University tomorrow! It's gonna be one hell of a time! Hopefully I can make a run at Jewel for energy drinks and snacks before we all leave. 5 hour drive and I'm one of the drivers, this is gonna be interesting.

Unfortunately I have to skip a math quiz tomorrow to get back home in time, but it's worth it in my opinion. I talked to the teacher about it and he said I can't take it early or later, but he told me that he only takes the 10 best scores out of the 13 quizzes we have for the semester for a grade, so that one could be one of the three crappy quizzes. Not the best solution, I'd much rather take it early or later but I'll have to settle for it. My grade should be fine anyway. Other than that, I am going to my other classes, and I still have to do homework for all of them tomorrow. Shouldn't be too bad though.

Apparently my grandma was cooking tonight but I didn't know ahead of time, but I'm having lunch at her house tomorrow before I pick up my 3 other friends to go back home so that makes up for it.

So that's about it for now. I won't be able to update this until Sunday night because I'm not bringing my laptop with, but when I do I'll summarize the weekend here. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow! It's gonna be awesome!

Two in one day? wat

Just getting out some other thoughts I forgot to say on here earlier today.

I think I'll try to update this every night that I can, if not then, then at some point the next day or whenever I'm available to.

Also about concerts, Obituary is coming to The Rave in Milwaukee on June 3rd. If my work schedule is cool, then I'll be able to go to that for sure!

That's really about it, also I'm gonna post what album I listen to when I work out. I work out every Monday through Thursday to counter my self conscious beliefs of my weight. I think it's working for me and it's good that I'm doing something about it.

This week - Hurry up!

Well, again, it's been a long time since I've updated this. I'm probably gonna link this in my facebook and last.fm page to get more followers and stuff. This semester has been going well so far, despite the 18 hours (6 classes) I'm taking they're going pretty well. Right now I just want this week to be over because I'm going to Indiana University this weekend with 7 other people to visit a friend there! I know it's going to be one hell of a time! Aside from that, February pretty much sucks. I want it to be over and March to come.

So far I have 6 concerts planned out in the future to go to. Kreator on March 12th, Unearth on March 26th, Overkill/Vader/Warbringer/Evile/etc on April 10th, Cannibal Corpse on April 29th, Mastodon/Between the Buried and Me on May 19th, and Mayhem Festival on July 30th. The two I'm not completely excited for are Unearth and Mayhem Festival. I'm planning on buying Unearth tickets as late as possible in hope of Live Nation selling them real cheap because it's not worth paying the full $30 or so to just see them. The opening bands are deathcore garbage so I'm planning on showing up as late as possible, or when I get done with my last class that Friday and catch the next train downtown. I'm in no hurry for that show whatsoever. And Mayhem Festival, the lineup is just disgusting. Screamo and metalcore garbage with the only 2 bands appealing to me being 3 Inches of Blood and Lamb of God. Unless 3 Inches of Blood tours the U.S. before Mayhem, I may just only go for Lamb of God. If not and I decided to show up late I get to see 3 Inches of Blood opening the show (What the fuck? They deserve a much higher spot) and then Lamb of God. I have 5 hours, maybe more, to do jack shit in between 3 Inches of Blood and Lamb of God. Gah, it's gonna be filled with emo and scene fucktards. Whatever, I have time to think this out.

I've been really good, and lucky lately. I feared that the Mastodon/BTBAM show on May 19th would get in the way of my summer job training, but I got the training schedule a couple days ago, and guess what? They're on May 18th and the 20th. If there is a God, he must love me very much. Words couldn't describe how happy I was.

So basically, I have to work as much as possible when I go home or find another job to afford these tickets. I have $37.50 left on my ticketmaster gift cards but I can't use them on any of the tickets I need because they're either not available on ticketmaster yet or ever, or that the tickets are being sold through another ticket outlet like Ticketweb (Kreator) or Live Nation (Unearth). I think I'll be fin though. That's about it for now. I have math in about half an hour, but I should go anyway despite that I'm skipping the quiz this Friday to go back home early to go to Indiana. But it won't affect my grade, the teacher only takes the 10 best quiz grades out of the 13 quizzes we have weekly, so I'm fine there. Hopefully I'll post more on here when I remember or get the chance.
